Erdoğan touts economic progress as exports hit $24 billion in October
President and AK Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan addressed his party’s parliamentary group in Ankara, focusing on Türkiye’s recent economic indicators, including employment, exports, and tourism.
Erdoğan said the government’s economic program—centered on investment, employment, production, exports, and sustainable growth—was producing positive results. He stated that Türkiye is on track to set a record in tourism this year in both visitor numbers and revenue. He also noted continued improvement in exports.
According to figures released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat), the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for the third quarter of 2025 was 8.5%. During the same period, the labor force rose to 35.568 million, while employment increased to 32.558 million. Erdoğan highlighted that unemployment has remained in single digits for 29 consecutive months.
The president pointed to strong export performance, noting that Türkiye’s goods exports had increased in 22 of the last 30 months. Exports in July reached $24.911 billion, marking the highest monthly figure of the Republic era. In October 2025, exports grew by 2.3%, reaching $24 billion.
Erdoğan said the latest data reflected progress in key sectors of the economy and expressed confidence that the current economic program would continue to support growth. (ILKHA)
