Duran: UN Security Council must act now to halt Gaza genocide

Türkiye has issued one of its strongest condemnations yet of Israel’s ongoing assault on the besieged Gaza Strip, warning that the humanitarian disaster has reached an “unbearable threshold” and urging the international community to take immediate action.
Burhanettin Duran, Head of Communications for the Turkish Presidency, shared a statement on his NSosyal account on Tuesday, denouncing Israel’s latest wave of attacks as a bloody and lawless campaign directed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
“The new wave of assaults launched by Israel in Gaza marks a bloody phase committed by the Netanyahu government,” Duran wrote, stressing that the attacks openly violate the most basic principles of international law. “These assaults add a new dimension to Israel’s war crimes and crimes against humanity,” he added.
Duran said the ongoing massacres, which have killed thousands of Palestinians and forced hundreds of thousands more from their homes, have pushed the humanitarian tragedy to an intolerable level.
“There are no excuses left for the international community,” Duran warned, calling on the UN Security Council and all “responsible mechanisms” to immediately secure a ceasefire and hold Israel accountable before international courts for its crimes.
He underlined that under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Türkiye will never recognise Israel’s campaign of oppression as legitimate, nor will it allow attempts to normalise such brutality. “Türkiye will support every initiative undertaken to bring about accountability,” he affirmed.
Duran also sharply rejected Netanyahu’s recent statements targeting President Erdoğan over Türkiye’s stance on Al-Quds, saying that the Israeli premier — who has already been accused of war crimes in international forums — has “no validity whatsoever in his remarks.”
“Throughout history, Al-Quds has never bowed to Crusader invaders or imperialist powers,” Duran declared. “Whoever has sought to seize this city by force, oppress its people, and attack its mosques and churches has become nothing more than a cursed footnote in its long history.”
He emphasised that the sanctity of the city can never be erased by occupation, promising that Türkiye will continue its steadfast support for the Palestinian cause until a free and independent State of Palestine is established with East Al-Quds as its capital.
“Until an independent and fully sovereign State of Palestine, based on the 1967 borders with East Al-Quds as its capital, is established, we will continue to stand by our brothers and sisters and their just cause,” he said.
Duran’s remarks come amid one of the deadliest periods of Israeli aggression in Gaza’s history, with Palestinian health officials reporting mounting civilian deaths, including women and children, and severe shortages of food, water, and medical supplies due to the ongoing blockade.
Observers say Türkiye’s strong message increases pressure on world powers to act, as anger continues to grow across the Muslim world over Israel’s relentless bombardment of Gaza and desecration of Al-Quds. (ILKHA)

Bayram Bozyel, General Chairman of the Kurdistan Socialist Party (PSK), met with Zekeriya Yapıcıoğlu, General Chairman of HÜDA PAR, at the party’s headquarters on Tuesday to discuss the disarmament of the PKK and potential pathways toward resolving the Kurdish issue.
Türkiye’s Foreign Ministry has strongly condemned Israel’s launch of a ground offensive in Gaza City, describing it as a dangerous new stage in what it called the Netanyahu government’s “genocidal plans” against the Palestinian people.
The Global Sumud Flotilla, a civilian initiative aiming to break the brutal Israeli blockade of Gaza, has managed to set sail despite facing repeated attacks, sabotage, and threats from the Israeli occupation regime.
