Duran: Israel's Gaza occupation will worsen humanitarian crisis

Turkish Presidency’s Head of Communications, Burhanettin Duran, issued a strong condemnation on Thursday against Israel’s declared intention to occupy Gaza, warning that such actions will deepen humanitarian disasters and constitute grave breaches of international law.
In a statement shared on his social media account, Duran said Israel’s plans and assaults are “targeting all of humanity, peace and stability,” stressing that the move violates both international legal norms and fundamental humanitarian values.
Highlighting the devastation in Gaza, Duran noted that intensified bombardments have deliberately targeted civilians, destroyed vital infrastructure, and blocked access to essential humanitarian supplies. “Israel’s actions in Gaza blatantly constitute genocide,” he said.
“There can be no justification for occupation, oppression, or the deliberate targeting of innocent lives. Humanity’s conscience cannot be silenced. It is essential that the international community firmly stand against such unilateral actions and actively pursue an equitable resolution,” Duran declared.
Calling on the global community to act, Duran urged: “Break the silence and lift your voice for humanity and justice! The global conscience has the power to stop and overcome Israel.”
Duran also echoed President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s firm stance, quoting his words: “All others may choose silence and indifference; yet we do not, we cannot simply remain silent, and rest assured, we will not.”
The statement comes amid escalating Israeli military assaults on Gaza, which have drawn mounting international criticism and intensified calls for urgent intervention to halt the bloodshed. (ILKHA)
