Türkiye’s industrial production falls 1.4% year-on-year in June
Türkiye’s industrial production declined by 1.4% year-on-year in June 2026, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) confirmed in a statement on Monday.
The figures showed mixed performances across the main industrial sectors when compared with June 2025.
The mining and quarrying index fell by 1.6%, while the manufacturing industry index decreased by 1.5%.
In contrast, the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply index increased by 1.1% over the same period.
The data are based on the industrial production index with 2021 as the base year (2021=100).
Despite the annual decline, industrial production recorded a modest 0.1% increase month-on-month in June.
Sectoral data showed that the mining and quarrying index declined by 0.5% compared with May, while the manufacturing industry index remained unchanged.
The electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply index, meanwhile, increased by 1.5% month-on-month.
The figures indicate that while Türkiye’s industrial sector remained under pressure compared with a year earlier, overall production posted a slight monthly increase in June, supported particularly by the energy-related sectors. (ILKHA)
