Türkiye’s industrial output rises 2.2% annually in October
Türkiye’s industrial production showed mixed performance in October 2025, posting an annual increase while declining on a monthly basis, according to data released on Wednesday by the Turkish Statistical Institute.
The institute reported that industrial production rose by 2.2% year-on-year in October 2025, reflecting continued growth momentum compared with the same month of the previous year.
When broken down by subsectors, the mining and quarrying index recorded the strongest annual growth, rising by 9.4%, while the manufacturing index increased by 1.9%. The electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply index also rose, albeit modestly, by 0.6% compared with October 2024.
However, on a monthly basis, overall industrial production declined by 0.8% compared with September 2025, signaling short-term weakness in industrial activity.
Subsector data showed that the mining and quarrying index increased by 1.2% month-on-month, while the manufacturing index fell by 0.9%. The electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply index also decreased by 1.2% over the same period.
The figures indicate that while Türkiye’s industrial sector continues to expand compared to last year, recent month-to-month data suggests emerging pressures and a slowdown in manufacturing and energy-related production. (ILKHA)
