Yemeni Armed Forces launch drone strikes on Israeli targets in solidarity with Gaza

The Yemeni Armed Forces (YAF) announced on Sunday that they had carried out three precision drone strikes against Israeli targets in the cities of Yafa (Jaffa), Askalan (Ashkelon), and Haifa in occupied Palestine.
According to a statement from Armed Forces spokesperson Brigadier General Yahya Saree, the strikes were launched in retaliation for Israel’s ongoing genocide in Gaza and repeated violations at Al-Aqsa Mosque. Two of the drones targeted military installations in Yafa and Askalan, while the third struck the port of Haifa.
“These operations were launched in solidarity with the Palestinian people and their resistance, and in direct response to the brutal siege and starvation campaign waged by the Israeli occupation against Gaza,” Saree said. He added that the attacks also came as retaliation for “repeated incursions and desecration of Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israeli settlers and officials.”
Saree reaffirmed Yemen’s commitment to continuing its support operations until the aggression against Gaza ceases and the blockade is fully lifted.
“Yemen, its loyal people, faithful leadership, and resisting army, will not abandon its religious, moral, and humanitarian responsibilities toward the Palestinian people, the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and Gaza,” he said.
Warning of the consequences of inaction, Saree declared that silence over the genocide in Gaza “is a stain and disgrace that will haunt this nation throughout its history.”
Israeli media reported that sirens were activated in areas near Gaza earlier in the day amid suspicions that a Yemeni drone had entered Israeli airspace.
This latest operation follows a series of escalating Yemeni strikes targeting Israeli sites. On August 1, Yemen struck al-Lydd (Lod) Airport with a Palestine-2 hypersonic missile, disrupting air traffic and sending millions into shelters. Over the past month, YAF forces, led by Ansar Allah, have launched dozens of ballistic missiles and drones at various Israeli military and strategic positions.
Yemen’s military actions underscore its central role in the regional response to Israel’s war on Gaza. By intensifying strikes, the YAF aims to pressure the Israeli regime, which is already facing mounting global isolation over its conduct in Gaza. (ILKHA)
