Six workers killed, ten injured in quarry collapse in Andhra Pradesh, India

At least six workers lost their lives and ten others were injured, including four in critical condition, following a tragic quarry accident in the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, local police confirmed on Monday.
The incident occurred on Friday evening in the Bapatla district, when a large section of rock suddenly gave way during quarrying operations, burying workers under tons of debris.
According to reports, 16 workers were present at the site when the accident took place. Most of the victims were from the eastern state of Odisha. Rescue teams rushed to the scene to extract survivors and provide emergency assistance.
The injured workers were immediately transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, where medical staff are closely monitoring those in critical condition. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the collapse and ensure safety measures are reinforced at quarry sites across the region.
