WHO: Over 14,800 Gaza patients in urgent need of specialized medical care

The World Health Organization (WHO) has issued an urgent call for international support as more than 14,800 patients in Gaza require specialized medical treatment amid ongoing Israeli genocide.
WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus emphasized the critical need for medical evacuations, urging more countries to accept patients and expedite transfers through all available routes.
In a statement posted on X, Tedros highlighted the dire situation in Gaza, where access to advanced medical care remains severely limited. On Wednesday, the WHO facilitated the evacuation of 15 critically ill children, accompanied by 42 companions, to Jordan for specialized treatment. “We thank the government and health workers of Jordan for continuously offering specialized care to patients from Gaza, especially children,” Tedros said.
The WHO’s appeal underscores the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza, where thousands of patients face life-threatening conditions without adequate medical resources. The organization continues to push for expanded international cooperation to address the urgent healthcare needs of Gaza’s population. (ILKHA)
