UAE Ambassador presents credentials in Kabul, pledges to boost bilateral ties
Saif Mohammed Al-Ketbi officially commenced his duties as the United Arab Emirates' new Ambassador to Afghanistan after presenting his credentials in Kabul on Monday.
The newly appointed ambassador was received by Afghanistan’s Acting Foreign Minister, Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the formal ceremony.
During the meeting, Foreign Minister Muttaqi extended his congratulations to Ambassador Al-Ketbi and wished him success in his new role. Minister Muttaqi underscored the existing potential for deepening the bilateral relationship between the two nations across multiple sectors and stressed the importance of capitalizing on these opportunities to strengthen ties.
In response, Ambassador Al-Ketbi expressed his commitment to advancing mutual interests and launching new initiatives aimed at boosting bilateral trade and transit. A key focus of his mission will be to streamline and enhance the visa issuance process for Afghan businessmen, a move designed to facilitate smoother travel and foster stronger economic partnerships.
This appointment signals the UAE's ongoing diplomatic engagement with Afghanistan and a shared intent to expand cooperation, particularly in the economic and commercial spheres. (ILKHA)
