The Syrian Arab Republic has strongly condemned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s entry into Syrian territory and his tour of Mount Hermon, describing the move as a provocative act and a blatant violation of Syria’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and international law.

Syria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said in a statement issued Wednesday that the Israeli move represented a serious escalation amid continued Israeli incursions and military attacks inside Syrian territory.

Damascus warned that Israel’s repeated violations of Syrian sovereignty pose a growing threat to regional security and stability, arguing that continued Israeli military activity risks further escalating tensions across an already volatile region.

The Syrian government held Israel fully responsible for the consequences of what it described as repeated violations and called on the United Nations, international organizations and states with influence in the region to take concrete action to halt the incursions.

Syria also urged the international community to work toward restoring respect for its territorial sovereignty and ensuring a return to the framework of the 1974 Disengagement Agreement, which established a separation of forces between Syrian and Israeli troops.

Damascus said the international community must not remain silent as Israeli actions continue inside Syrian territory, stressing that respect for Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity is essential to preventing further instability and preserving regional security. (ILKHA)
