Russian forces unleashed a devastating overnight barrage on Ukraine’s capital, killing at least eight people and injuring 124, marking one of the deadliest attacks on Kyiv in recent months. The assault, involving over 300 drones and eight missiles, struck multiple districts, leaving a trail of destruction and prompting ongoing rescue operations.

In Sviatoshynskyi district, six people, including a six-year-old boy, were killed, while two others died in Solomianskyi. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that at least 10 children were among the injured, with five hospitalized, the highest number of child casualties since Russia’s full-scale invasion began. Three police officers were also injured, and 44 people required hospitalization as of mid-morning.

The attack targeted 27 locations across Kyiv, with direct strikes on an educational institution and a residential building in Solomianskyi and debris sparking fires in Sviatoshynskyi, damaging high-rise apartments and vehicles. President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned the assault, highlighting the scale of Russia’s aggression.
