Pakistani Defense Minister slams Western support for Israeli aggression

Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has issued a firm warning over the unchecked nuclear capabilities of the Israeli regime, urging the international community to confront the growing danger posed by a nuclear-armed entity that operates outside global non-proliferation frameworks.
In a statement posted on X, Asif condemned "Israel" as a rogue regime that remains outside the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and international nuclear agreements, describing it as a major threat to global peace and stability. “The world must be wary and apprehensive of Israel’s nuclear potential,” he wrote.
Contrasting Pakistan’s fully regulated and defensive nuclear program with that of Israel, Asif affirmed, “Pakistan is a signatory to all international nuclear disciplines. We do not pursue hegemonic policies against our neighbors, unlike what is being amply demonstrated by Israel these days.”
Asif warned that ongoing Western support for Israel’s aggression could spark a broader regional conflict, stating, “Their patronage of Israel, a rogue state, can have catastrophic consequences.”
Calls for Islamic Unity Against Occupation and Aggression
Speaking in Pakistan’s parliament, Asif also called on Muslim nations to unite in the face of Israeli aggression, declaring that silence and disunity would only embolden further atrocities. “If we remain silent and disunited today, then everyone will be targeted eventually,” he said.
He urged the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to urgently convene and adopt a united front against Israel’s escalating hostilities, which have extended beyond Palestine to include direct strikes on Yemen and Iran.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s principled stance, Asif declared, “We have neither recognized Israel nor established diplomatic relations with it,” and reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for Iran. “Iranians are our brothers, and their grief and pain are shared. In this time of trial, we stand by Iran in every way.”
Condemnation of Civilian Massacres and Israeli Nuclear Escalation
The Pakistani defense chief voiced outrage at the latest wave of Israeli strikes targeting Iranian cities, which have left at least 224 civilians dead, most of them women and children, according to Iran’s Ministry of Health. These attacks followed the targeting of residential buildings, nuclear sites, and military facilities across Iran.
“The Islamic world remains largely passive while children are being slaughtered in Palestine,” Asif lamented. “Even non-Muslim voices in the West are rising in protest. Their conscience has awakened—unlike the Muslim world.”
His comments come as media, including Israel’s own Haaretz newspaper, confirm the precision and effectiveness of Iran’s retaliatory missile strikes, and criticize Israeli leadership for lacking a coherent strategy in the face of rising resistance.
As regional tensions reach new heights, Asif’s warnings underscore growing demands across the Islamic world for unity, justice, and resistance against what is widely viewed as an unrestrained campaign of aggression by the Israeli occupation. (ILKHA)
