Night of terror: Israeli colonists launch coordinated attacks on West Bank villages

In yet another act of terror, extremist Israeli colonists, under the protection of Israeli occupation forces, launched a vicious attack on the Palestinian villages of Jinsafut and al-Fanduq east of Qalqilya on Monday night.
Dozens of rampaging colonists, emboldened by the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people, set fire to three homes, a nursery, and a carpentry workshop. Numerous Palestinian-owned vehicles were also torched.
One Palestinian resident sustained a minor head injury while bravely defending his home from the onslaught. Several others suffered from tear gas inhalation as Israeli soldiers fired tear gas canisters into the villages.
This attack follows a pattern of escalating violence by Israeli colonists across the West Bank. On Sunday evening, extremist settlers set fire to and damaged Palestinian vehicles, closed roads, and blocked key intersections in various parts of the occupied territory.
Since the onset of the brutal Israeli assault on Gaza in October 2023, the frequency and intensity of settler attacks have surged. These attacks, often targeting Palestinian homes, agricultural lands, and places of worship, are carried out with impunity and frequently accompanied by acts of vandalism, arson, and racist chants calling for the expulsion and killing of Palestinians.
The international community has condemned these acts of terror, with many countries and organizations calling for accountability for the crimes committed by Israeli colonists and their supporters. Several countries have imposed sanctions on individuals and groups responsible for these heinous acts, including travel bans and asset freezes.
These measures, however, remain insufficient to deter the escalating violence and bring an end to the Israeli occupation that fuels these attacks. The Palestinian people continue to endure daily acts of aggression and face an uncertain future under Israeli apartheid. (ILKHA)
