Nearly 100 countries attend funeral of Iran's late Supreme Leader Khamenei in Tehran
Official delegations, senior dignitaries, and special envoys from nearly 100 countries participated in the funeral ceremonies of Iran's late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, according to Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmail Baghaei.
Speaking to the media, Baghaei said the large international turnout reflected the significance of the occasion and highlighted the broad diplomatic engagement surrounding the funeral ceremonies held in Iran.
According to the spokesperson, the event was attended by heads of state from eight countries, parliamentary speakers representing twelve nations, and a number of foreign ministers from across the world. Numerous governments also dispatched special envoys and high-level representatives to take part in the ceremonies.
Baghaei stated that the participation of official delegations from nearly 100 countries demonstrated the international attention given to the passing of the Iranian leader and the respect shown by governments and political figures from various regions.
The funeral ceremonies drew political, religious, and diplomatic figures from across the Middle East, Asia, Africa, Europe, and Latin America, with representatives offering condolences to the Iranian government and people.
Iranian authorities organized a series of memorial events and official ceremonies to honor Khamenei's legacy and decades-long role in shaping the country's political and religious institutions.
