The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and the Republic of Poland have held high-level diplomatic discussions aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and deepening cooperation on political, economic, and humanitarian issues.

In a formal meeting held in Kabul, Afghanistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, met with Poland’s Special Envoy for Afghanistan, Witold Sobków, for talks that both sides described as constructive and forward-looking.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the discussions focused on enhancing collaboration between the two countries’ foreign ministries, with special attention given to economic opportunities, regional developments, and the situation of Afghan migrants in Europe, particularly those residing in Poland.

During the meeting, Mawlavi Muttaqi reiterated the Islamic Emirate’s commitment to a balanced foreign policy centered on economic development. He stressed Afghanistan’s willingness to build constructive relations with all countries, including European nations, and highlighted the vast investment potential across sectors in Afghanistan—from agriculture and mining to infrastructure and trade.

“We welcome investment and cooperation from all nations and are eager to foster an environment conducive to mutual economic benefit,” Muttaqi stated.

He also urged Polish authorities to support Afghan nationals living abroad and to consider policies that would ease their legal and humanitarian challenges.

Envoy Sobków acknowledged the efforts of the Islamic Emirate in ensuring national security and combating administrative corruption, two issues seen as vital for stability and long-term growth. He expressed Poland’s interest in exploring economic engagements in Afghanistan, while also affirming Warsaw’s concerns over the condition of Afghan migrants and asylum seekers.

“We are closely examining opportunities for cooperation with Afghanistan, particularly in areas that would support stability, economic development, and the well-being of Afghans both at home and abroad,” Sobków remarked.

The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to continue dialogue and seek areas for practical collaboration, reflecting a growing effort by the Islamic Emirate to re-engage with the international community through diplomacy and shared interests. (ILKHA)
