Israeli genocide in Gaza claims 87 more lives in 24 hours

At least 87 Palestinians were martyred and 409 others injured in the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours as the Israeli occupation intensified its brutal bombardment, according to local medical sources.
The latest killings bring the total number of Palestinians massacred since the start of the genocidal campaign in October 2023 to 64,368, while 162,776 have been injured, the vast majority of them women and children.
Gaza’s hospitals also confirmed five new deaths from famine and severe malnutrition in the last day, including children, as Israel’s total blockade continues to choke off food and medical supplies. The cumulative death toll from starvation has now climbed to 387 Palestinians, among them 138 children.
Health workers warn that these numbers represent only a fraction of the catastrophe, as countless others remain trapped under rubble or lie uncollected on Gaza’s roads. Ambulances and civil defense crews remain under constant Israeli fire, preventing them from reaching the wounded.
Despite multiple United Nations Security Council resolutions demanding an immediate ceasefire and rulings by the International Court of Justice ordering Israel to halt genocidal acts and ease the humanitarian disaster, Tel Aviv has pressed forward with its onslaught unabated.
Local authorities stress that the deliberate targeting of civilians, medical facilities, and rescue workers forms part of Israel’s systematic campaign to eradicate Palestinian life in Gaza.
With Gaza’s population enduring near-total displacement, destroyed infrastructure, and the collapse of healthcare, humanitarian agencies have repeatedly warned of an impending catastrophe of historic proportions. An estimated 900,000 children face hunger, with tens of thousands already suffering from clinical malnutrition.
“The world has failed to stop this genocide,” said one doctor at Al-Shifa Hospital, describing the daily influx of children dying of wounds and starvation. “Every hour, we lose more lives that could have been saved.”
Palestinian officials and civil society groups are urging the international community to move beyond statements of concern and take practical measures to stop Israeli aggression, lift the blockade, and hold the occupation accountable for war crimes and crimes against humanity.
As the genocide enters its eleventh month, Gaza’s people remain steadfast in their resilience, but the human toll continues to rise at an alarming rate under the relentless Israeli assault. (ILKHA)
