Israeli forces raid al-Mughayyir village near Ramallah, kidnap several Palestinians
Israeli occupation forces raided the Palestinian village of al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah, at dawn on Thursday, detaining several residents, occupying a home, and sealing off the village’s entrances, according to local sources.
Marzouq Abu Naim, deputy head of the al-Mughayyir village council, told the Palestinian news agency WAFA that a large Israeli military force stormed the village from multiple directions early in the morning. Military vehicles and infantry units spread throughout residential areas as troops conducted searches and arrests.
According to Abu Naim, the occupation forces detained several young men during the raid, though their identities and exact number remain unknown. Soldiers also occupied a residential building belonging to local resident Raed Abu Aliya, forcibly evicting his family before taking control of the property.
The Israeli troops later closed the western entrance to al-Mughayyir, effectively trapping residents inside the village and preventing movement to and from the area.
“The ongoing raids have paralyzed daily life,” Abu Naim said. “Students were unable to reach their schools and universities because of the military presence and roadblocks.”
Residents reported that the Israeli soldiers distributed threatening leaflets, warning villagers against unspecified actions — a tactic frequently used by Israeli forces to intimidate Palestinian communities.
The raid on al-Mughayyir is part of a broader pattern of nightly incursions across the occupied West Bank, where Israeli forces routinely detain Palestinians, impose movement restrictions, and conduct home invasions under the pretext of “security operations.”
