Prophet's Lovers demands sanctions on Israel for Gaza ceasefire violations

The Prophet’s Lovers Foundation (Peygamber Sevdalıları Vakfı) organized a large Pro-Palestinian demonstration in front of the Grand Mosque (Ulu Cami) in Diyarbakır’s central Sur District.
The rally condemned the Israeli occupation regime’s ongoing violations of the Gaza ceasefire, highlighted the deepening humanitarian catastrophe, and called on guarantor countries and the international community to take immediate action to save civilian lives.
The gathering took place in front of the Grand Mosque, drawing hundreds of activists, religious leaders, and ordinary citizens, all united in their outrage at the ongoing Israeli aggression and the complicity of states failing to enforce the truce.
Historic Betrayal and Modern Struggle
Ömer Çelik, head of the Martyrs Caravan Platform, addressed the crowd, framing the crisis within both historical and religious contexts. He recalled centuries of betrayal by the Children of Israel, highlighting that Gaza’s current tragedy is the continuation of a long pattern of oppression and deceit.
“The Qur’an warns us: ‘Do not take Jews and Christians as allies; they are allies of one another.’ Yet we persist in seeking friendship with those who have never been our friends. Today, we are divided and weak, while the very powers that initiated the war—Israel and America—pose as peacemakers. Arab leaders gather under their shadow, asking the killers to deliver peace. Their concern is not for Gaza, but for their own interests.”
Çelik stressed that division and the abandonment of Qur’anic principles have left the Muslim world vulnerable, resulting in a crisis where Gaza is abandoned to bombs, disease, and starvation.
Ceasefire Violated, Humanitarian Crisis Deepens
After Çelik’s address, Üzeyir Yuva read the foundation’s official statement, delivering a vivid and harrowing account of the dire conditions in Gaza since the fragile ceasefire was implemented.
“The blood of Gaza’s innocent continues to flow. Women, children, and the elderly are being slaughtered while the world remains silent,” declared Üzeyir Yuva.
Yuva denounced the fragile ceasefire declared on October 9, 2025, noting that Israel has allegedly violated it over 150 times, killing more than 200 Palestinians, including women, children, and infants.
“A ceasefire on paper means nothing when the people of Gaza continue to die. Words and condemnations are no longer enough,” Yuva stated.
Gaza has become a ghost city, with 90% of its infrastructure destroyed, sewage flooding the streets, clean water inaccessible, and basic services collapsing. The blockade prevents aid from reaching the population, leaving hospitals under-resourced and civilians exposed to widespread disease, malnutrition, and psychological trauma.
“The occupation regime, failing to kill Gaza’s population with bombs, now attempts to destroy them through disease and deprivation,” Yuva warned.
Over 10,000 Martyrs Buried Under the Rubble
Yuva painted a harrowing picture of the human toll: thousands of martyrs remain trapped beneath collapsed buildings, while tens of thousands more are wounded, sick, and unable to leave Gaza for treatment.
“Winter is approaching, and more than two million Gazans need container settlements, mobile hospitals, and temporary schools. The time to act is now. Reconstruction must begin immediately to save lives and restore hope.”
He called for heavy machinery, search-and-rescue teams, and urgent medical evacuations to recover bodies and prevent further disease outbreaks.
A Moral Call to Muslim Nations and the World
The Foundation also condemned regional and global complicity, warning countries that normalize or cooperate with Israel, including those following the Abraham Accords:
“Stop carrying the mark of betrayal that history will remember in shame. Stop acting as if you are prisoners in love with your executioners. Stand with Gaza or be complicit in their slaughter.”
The Foundation demanded that guarantor countries enforce the ceasefire, stop attacks on civilians, and ensure Israel adheres to all terms of the agreement. Türkiye, in particular, was urged to lead by imposing sanctions and diplomatic pressure.
Support for Resistance and Boycott as Tools of Justice
The Prophet’s Lovers Foundation issued a bold call to action, urging support for Gaza’s resistance movements with military, logistical, and technological resources; the continuation of lifelong boycott campaigns against products and companies that fund or support Israel; the passage of legislation in Türkiye revoking dual citizenship from citizens who aid Israeli crimes; and pressure on all states to ensure unhindered humanitarian aid, medical evacuations, and reconstruction efforts in Gaza.
“Only decisive action can save Gaza. Either stand with the resistance and the people of Gaza to the last drop of our blood, or submit in humiliation and await occupation,” Yuva said.
Solidarity and Determination
The Diyarbakır gathering concluded with prayers, chants, and messages of solidarity for Gaza: “Greetings to Gaza’s heroic civilians, its leaders who uphold dignity, and the mujahideen defending their homeland. May Allah’s peace, mercy, and blessings be upon you all.”
The Foundation vowed that support for Gaza will continue until Israel is cast into the sea and the Palestinian people are free.
“Gaza is not alone. The Muslim world must rise in unity, action, and determination to defend the oppressed and uphold justice.”
The gathering in Diyarbakır serves as a potent reminder that despite shifting international headlines, grassroots movements continue to mobilize, demanding tangible action and holding both their own governments and the world accountable for the ongoing plight of the Palestinian people. (ILKHA)
