Israeli occupation forces killed a Palestinian man east of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip on Sunday, raising the number of fatalities in the area to two within hours.

Medical sources confirmed that the unidentified victim was shot dead by Israeli forces near the Bani Suheila roundabout. Earlier in the day, 15-year-old Riyad Naji Abu Nimer was martyred in a cold-blooded Israeli drone strike in the same area.

These latest killings bring the total number of Palestinians killed in Gaza since the ceasefire took effect on October 11, 2025, to 831, while the number of injuries has surpassed 2,342. Additionally, 767 bodies remain recovered from under the rubble of destroyed homes and infrastructure.

The repeated attacks by Israeli occupation forces in southern Gaza highlight the persistent aggression and disregard for the ceasefire agreement. Despite the supposed halt in major hostilities, Palestinian civilians — including children — continue to pay with their lives under Israeli gunfire and drone strikes.

The targeted killing of a teenager and another civilian near Khan Younis underscores the ongoing dangers faced by residents attempting to move within their own territory, even in so-called “ceasefire” conditions. Many Palestinians view these incidents as part of a deliberate campaign of attrition aimed at making life unbearable in the besieged enclave.

As the death toll steadily climbs during what was meant to be a period of calm, calls are growing for international accountability and an end to the impunity with which Israeli forces continue to target defenseless civilians in Gaza. (ILKHA)
