Israeli forces killed a Palestinian youth in a drone strike on Wednesday targeting the al-Hawja area of Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza, while a displaced Palestinian woman succumbed to critical injuries sustained after being shot by Israeli forces in central Gaza.

Medical sources at al-Shifa Hospital in western Gaza City said the body of a Palestinian youth was brought to the hospital following the Israeli drone strike on al-Hawja. Another Palestinian was also reported wounded in the attack.

The strike targeted an area of Jabalia refugee camp, where Palestinians have endured repeated Israeli military attacks and mass displacement. The latest incident further underscores the continuing danger facing civilians in northern Gaza, particularly those living in or around areas that have repeatedly come under attack.

In central Gaza, 51-year-old Amina al-Hissi died from severe injuries sustained the previous day after being shot by Israeli forces in Deir al-Balah.

Medical sources at al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital confirmed her death, noting that al-Hissi had been displaced from Jabalia refugee camp to Deir al-Balah in search of safety.

Her death reflects the devastating conditions facing thousands of displaced Palestinians who have been repeatedly forced from one area to another while remaining exposed to Israeli military operations.

The two incidents come amid the continuing Israeli assault on Gaza, where civilians, including displaced families, continue to bear the brunt of military attacks and deteriorating humanitarian conditions.

For Palestinians in Gaza, repeated displacement has offered little protection, as areas designated or perceived as places of refuge have themselves remained vulnerable to Israeli attacks, shootings and airstrikes. (ILKHA)
