Israeli attacks kill 67 in Gaza, including 27 at aid center

At least 67 Palestinians were martyred and over 255 others injured in a series of intense Israeli air and ground assaults across the Gaza Strip since dawn on Saturday, medical sources in Gaza hospitals reported.
The deadliest attack took place near the Shakoush Relief Centre in northern Rafah, where Israeli forces opened fire on hundreds of civilians waiting for humanitarian aid, killing 27 and wounding more than 180, many critically, according to local sources. The assault targeted vulnerable families seeking essential supplies amid Gaza’s worsening humanitarian crisis.
Israeli bombardment also struck multiple areas, including Gaza City, where a strike on a building housing displaced families near the Islamic University of Gaza claimed at least four lives. Further raids hit densely populated neighborhoods such as Tuffah, Sheikh Ridwan, Rimal, Deir al-Belah, and the Nusayrat Refugee Camp, killing dozens, including women and children.
In Khan Yunis, southern Gaza, Israeli strikes targeted tents sheltering displaced people in the Mevasi area, martyring 11 Palestinians. Another attack in the Sheikh Nasser neighborhood killed two civilians.
Medical officials stressed that most victims were civilians, including children, women, and displaced families already struggling to survive. The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) warned of a looming public health disaster, citing extreme heat, severe water shortages, and the deliberate targeting of civilian infrastructure.
The latest violence brings Gaza’s death toll to over 37,000 since Israel’s military campaign began in October 2023. Despite urgent calls from humanitarian agencies for a ceasefire, stalled negotiations and escalating attacks continue to deepen the suffering of Gaza’s civilian population. (ILKHA)
