Israel admits to over 1,150 soldiers killed since start of Gaza genocide
Israeli Security Ministry has confirmed the deaths of 1,152 of its soldiers and security personnel since the start of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood on October 7, 2023.
The statistics, first reported by Israeli Army Radio, lay bare the devastating effectiveness of the resistance and the profound crisis within the occupation's military ranks. The data underscores that the war has been particularly devastating for the young conscripts of the Israeli army, with 487 soldiers—approximately 42% of the total dead—being under the age of 21, reflecting the human cost of maintaining a military occupation.
The report also points to deep and widening social fractures within Israeli society as a direct result of its ongoing aggression. More than 6,500 relatives of fallen soldiers have been added to what is described as the "bereaved list," a figure that includes 1,973 parents, 351 widows, 885 orphans, and 3,481 siblings. This growing tally illustrates the immense societal strain and the personal tragedy stemming from the government's policies of siege and military assault.
A detailed breakdown of the fatalities showed that the vast majority of the dead, 1,086, were male, with 66 females killed. The casualties are spread across age groups, with 337 dead between 22 and 30 years old, 187 between 31 and 40, and 141 over the age of 41.
This official confirmation of significant losses comes as the Israeli military continues its brutal, full-scale aggression against the besieged Gaza Strip and escalated violence in the West Bank. The scale of the damage to the occupation's forces was further highlighted last July by the Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth, which reported that the number of wounded soldiers had surpassed 18,500. This figure includes thousands suffering from severe psychological trauma, with estimates indicating the total number of wounded could reach a staggering 100,000 by 2028, a long-term testament to the cost of the occupation's military campaign.
