Islamic Emirate restores over 12,000 military vehicles in Kandahar since return to power

Local authorities in Kandahar province have announced the successful repair and reactivation of over 12,000 military vehicles since the return of the Islamic Emirate to power in August 2021.
Hafiz Rahmatullah Anas, head of the vehicle repair unit at the Kandahar Police Command, confirmed that the technical teams under his supervision have worked continuously to restore the operational capacity of the security fleet. He reported that 2,300 of these vehicles were overhauled during the past solar year alone (1403).
The vehicles refurbished include a wide range of military hardware such as Rangers, International trucks, Humvee armored vehicles, and a number of Toyota units. Anas emphasized that many of these vehicles had been previously damaged due to misuse and neglect under the former administration.
The large-scale rehabilitation project is part of broader efforts by the Islamic Emirate’s Ministries of National Defense and Interior Affairs to restore security infrastructure and optimize the use of existing assets.
Officials noted that the majority of the repairs were conducted at the Kandahar Police Command workshop, with the aim of strengthening the operational readiness of police and military forces throughout the region.
The initiative underscores the Islamic Emirate’s commitment to rebuilding Afghanistan’s security apparatus using domestic expertise and available resources. (ILKHA)
