Ireland has pledged a new €125 million support package for Ukraine in 2027, with funding allocated for non-lethal military equipment and energy infrastructure, reaffirming Dublin's long-term backing for Kyiv.
The Irish government has announced a new €125 million support package for Ukraine to be delivered in 2027.
Under the package, €100 million will be allocated for non-lethal military equipment, while the remaining €25 million will support the repair and protection of Ukraine's energy infrastructure.
The announcement was made during Irish Prime Minister Micheal Martin's visit to Kyiv, where he met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.Martin said support for Ukraine was a key priority of Ireland's Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
With the latest commitment, Ireland's total assistance to Ukraine since 2022 has exceeded €670 million.
Irish Foreign Affairs and Trade Minister Helen McEntee claimed that Russia continues to target Ukrainian cities and critical infrastructure, saying the new funding is intended to strengthen Ukraine's resilience. She also reaffirmed Ireland's support for Ukraine's bid to join the European Union. (ILKHA)
