Four Palestinians were killed and several others wounded on Friday after Israeli occupation forces opened fire during an attack carried out by Israeli settlers on the village of Tell, southwest of Nablus, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
In a statement, the ministry said four Palestinians were killed by Israeli gunfire, while four others were wounded, including three who sustained critical injuries, as residents confronted the settler assault on the village.
Local reports said Israeli settlers stormed the village of Tell, attacking Palestinian homes and opening live fire at residential areas, prompting villagers to attempt to defend their community. During the assault, Israeli occupation forces reportedly intervened, firing at Palestinian residents.
The latest killings come amid a sharp escalation in settler violence across the occupied West Bank, where Palestinian communities have faced increasing attacks on their homes, farmland, and property under the protection of Israeli occupation forces.
Palestinian officials have repeatedly accused Israeli authorities of enabling settler violence by providing military protection to attackers while using lethal force against Palestinians attempting to defend their communities.
According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, at least 82 Palestinians have been killed across the occupied West Bank since the beginning of the year. The ministry said 21 of those fatalities were caused by Israeli settlers, underscoring what Palestinian officials describe as a growing pattern of coordinated violence between settlers and occupation forces.
The incident in Tell adds to mounting international concern over the deteriorating security situation in the occupied West Bank, where deadly Israeli military raids and settler attacks have intensified alongside Israel's ongoing military campaign in the Gaza Strip.
Palestinian leaders have repeatedly called on the international community to hold Israel accountable for what they describe as systematic violations of international law and to provide protection for Palestinian civilians living under occupation, warning that continued impunity for settler violence is fueling further instability across the occupied Palestinian territories.
