Hamas condemns Ben Gvir’s ‘terrorism and arrogance’ during Negev raid on Bedouin families
The Hamas Movement has strongly condemned the actions of far-right Israeli Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, who personally distributed demolition and eviction orders to Bedouin families during a provocative visit to the occupied Negev.
The Movement described Ben Gvir’s conduct as a “clear embodiment of organized terrorism and the arrogance of the occupation government, which continues to sponsor extremism and repression in all its forms.”
In a statement released Thursday, Hamas said the Israeli regime’s intimidation of Bedouin communities and its ongoing campaign of demolitions and forced evictions represent a continuation of systematic abuse, racial discrimination, and ethnic cleansing policies against the Palestinian people. The Movement warned that such actions reflect a colonial mentality of provocation and violence carried out “with complete disregard for any legal, moral, or humanitarian principles.”
Hamas cautioned that the occupation’s persistence in these oppressive, fascist policies would inevitably fuel greater instability and confrontation on the ground. The statement urged the international community, the United Nations, and global human rights organizations to intervene immediately to halt Israel’s campaign of home demolitions and forced displacement targeting Palestinians in the Negev.
The Movement also called on all Palestinians—both within the occupied territories and in the diaspora—to stand firmly alongside the Bedouin families facing eviction and to strengthen national unity against the occupation’s aggression. Hamas emphasized the importance of grassroots resistance and legal action to confront Israel’s colonial plans, asserting that the resilience and steadfastness of the Palestinian people remain “the strongest shield against the occupation’s malicious schemes.”
Hamas concluded by affirming that the Israeli campaign in the Negev is part of a broader policy of dispossession and Judaization aimed at erasing the Palestinian presence from historic Palestine—an effort that, the Movement stressed, “will be met with steadfastness, defiance, and unyielding resistance.” (ILKHA)
