Gaza death toll rises to 73,400 since start of Israeli war
The death toll from Israel’s ongoing war on the Gaza Strip has risen to 73,400 Palestinians since the conflict began on October 7, 2023, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry on Tuesday.
The ministry said the number of Palestinians wounded since the start of the war has also reached 174,312.
In its latest daily report, the ministry said Gaza hospitals received the body of one Palestinian and two wounded people over the previous 24 hours.
The figures include casualties recorded amid the continued humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip, where medical facilities have faced severe shortages of essential supplies and repeated operational challenges.
The Health Ministry also reported that at least 1,266 Palestinians have been killed and another 4,200 wounded since the ceasefire agreement that took effect on October 10, 2025.
The latest figures underscore the continuing scale of Palestinian casualties in Gaza despite the ceasefire, as residents and medical teams continue to deal with the aftermath of the war and extensive destruction across the territory.
Health authorities have repeatedly warned that the actual death toll could be higher, as many victims remain under rubble and some casualties have yet to be fully documented.
The conflict has caused widespread destruction of homes and civilian infrastructure across Gaza, while the territory continues to face a severe humanitarian crisis. (ILKHA)
