Gaza death toll rises to 52,615 amid continued Israeli bombardment

The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced on Friday that the civilian death toll in Gaza has soared to 52,615 since the Israeli military campaign began on October 7, 2023.
Women and children constitute the majority of the fatalities. An additional 118,752 Palestinians have been wounded.
Ministry sources warned that these figures likely understate the true toll, as many victims remain trapped beneath rubble or lie along roads inaccessible to overwhelmed emergency medical and civil defense teams.
In the past 24 hours alone, Gaza’s hospitals received 48 bodies and treated 142 injured patients, underscoring the relentless pace of the bombardment and the severe strain on the territory’s medical infrastructure.
Humanitarian agencies continue to call for urgent international intervention to ensure unimpeded medical access, aid delivery, and a lasting ceasefire to halt the mounting civilian suffering. (ILKHA)
