Afghanistan, UK organization discuss economic and environmental cooperation

Afghanistan’s Minister of Economy, Qari Din Mohammad Hanif, and Julian Weinberg, representative of the UK-based International Dialogue Action Organization, met to discuss strengthening economic and environmental ties between Afghanistan and the international community.
The Ministry of Economy reported that the talks focused on bolstering Afghanistan’s economic relations with regional countries and global institutions, alongside collaborative efforts to combat climate change and protect the environment. Minister Hanif welcomed Weinberg’s visit, highlighting Afghanistan’s economic challenges, strategies for social and economic development, and the pivotal role of international organizations in fostering regional and global partnerships.
Weinberg shared insights from his recent visits to Indonesia and Malaysia, where he observed robust cooperation in agriculture, climate change mitigation, environmental protection, Islamic banking, and support for small and medium-sized enterprises. He noted Malaysia’s keen interest in extending similar cooperation to Afghanistan.
The meeting underscores Afghanistan’s ongoing efforts to integrate into the global economy while addressing pressing environmental concerns through international collaboration. (ILKHA)
