China's Gravity-1, the world's most powerful solid-fuel carrier rocket, successfully completed its third mission by deploying nine satellites into orbit from an offshore launch platform.
China successfully launched nine satellites aboard the Gravity-1 carrier rocket, marking the third mission for the world's most powerful solid-fuel launch vehicle.
Developed by Chinese commercial space company Orienspace, the Gravity-1 rocket lifted off from an offshore platform operated by the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center off the coast of Shanghai.
All nine satellites were successfully placed into their designated orbits.
Standing about 30 meters tall, Gravity-1 is roughly half the height of SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket. The launch vehicle features three solid-fuel core stages and four solid-fuel strap-on boosters.
Gravity-1 is capable of carrying up to 4.2 metric tons to low Earth orbit and 6.5 metric tons to sun-synchronous orbit.
The rocket previously completed successful missions in January 2024 and October 2025.(ILKHA)
