Erdoğan: Türkiye will continue extending humanitarian assistance to those in need
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said Türkiye will continue providing humanitarian assistance wherever it is needed, reaffirming the country's commitment to supporting vulnerable communities around the world in a message marking World Humanitarian Day.
In a statement shared on social media, Erdoğan said Türkiye has maintained its position as one of the world's leading humanitarian donors relative to national income, drawing on its historical heritage and long-standing humanitarian values.
Call for greater global responsibility
Erdoğan said that more than 300 million people worldwide remain deprived of basic necessities and continue struggling under extremely difficult conditions, describing the situation as a shared responsibility for the international community.
He stressed that helping the oppressed, orphans, vulnerable people and those in need is both a humanitarian and moral obligation.
Support for Gaza and other crisis regions
Erdoğan reaffirmed that Türkiye would continue extending assistance to people in need wherever they are.
He added that the country would maintain its humanitarian support for civilians affected by crises, particularly in Gaza, while continuing efforts to provide hope and assistance to vulnerable and displaced populations in other parts of the world.(ILKHA)
