Erdoğan highlights Türkiye's strategic role in global energy security at Istanbul Summit

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan addressed attendees at the Istanbul Natural Resources Summit, held at the Lütfi Kırdar International Convention and Exhibition Center, emphasizing Türkiye's critical position in the global energy landscape.
In his speech, President Erdoğan outlined the importance of Türkiye's natural resources, geographical location, and proximity to major hydrocarbon reserves, describing the country as a key player in the global energy equation. "Due to its natural resources, geographical location, and its proximity to hydrocarbon reserves, Türkiye holds a strategic position in the global energy equation. As a main transit route, we significantly contribute to supply and procurement security," Erdoğan stated.
The President further highlighted Türkiye’s vital role in global energy security, stressing that the country’s energy security is a matter of global concern. "Türkiye’s energy security is an issue that directly or indirectly concerns the whole world. We have always developed our energy policies in light of this fact, and addressed the issue with this approach," Erdoğan added.
Erdoğan also pointed to Türkiye's recent advancements in energy infrastructure, noting that the country has made significant strides to position itself as a secure hub for global energy. "We have recently taken huge leaps to make Türkiye the safe harbor and secure hub of global energy," he concluded.
The summit underscored Türkiye's growing importance in the global energy market and its efforts to strengthen energy security and supply routes. (ILKHA)
