Türkiye's Construction Sector Surges with 24.9% Annual Growth in June

Türkiye's construction industry experienced robust growth in June 2025, with production rising by 24.9% compared to the same month last year, according to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) on Friday.
Breaking down the subsectors, the construction of buildings index saw the highest annual increase, soaring by 26.9%. The civil engineering index grew by 16.7%, while the specialised construction activities index climbed by 23.6%, all measured against the base year of 2021 (2021=100).
On a monthly basis, construction production also showed positive momentum, increasing by 3.2% from May to June 2025. Within the subsectors, the construction of buildings index and civil engineering index each rose by 3.1%, while specialised construction activities recorded a slightly higher monthly gain of 3.7%.
The strong performance underscores the construction sector's vital role in driving Türkiye's economic growth, reflecting increased activity across residential, infrastructure, and specialised projects. (ILKHA)
