Türkiye's annual inflation edges down to 31.07% in November
The Consumer Price Index (CPI) in Türkiye increased by 31.07% annually and 0.87% monthly in November 2025, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) announced on Wednesday.
According to the statement, the overall index rose by 0.87% compared to the previous month, by 29.74% since December of the previous year, and by 35.91% on a twelve-month moving average basis.
The data showed that among the main expenditure groups with the highest weight in the index, annual inflation increased by 27.44% for food and non-alcoholic beverages, 29.23% for transportation, and 49.92% for housing. These groups contributed 6.83 percentage points to food, 4.55 points to transportation, and 7.57 points to housing in the annual CPI increase.
On a monthly basis, food and non-alcoholic beverage prices decreased by 0.69%, while transportation rose by 1.78% and housing by 1.70%. Their contributions to the monthly change were –0.17 points, 0.27 points, and 0.29 points respectively.
Out of 143 basic product and service categories in the index, prices decreased in 28 categories, remained unchanged in 7, and increased in 108 categories in November.
The core inflation indicator (CPI-B), which excludes unprocessed food, energy, alcoholic beverages, tobacco, and gold, increased by 1.27% compared to the previous month, 30.64% since December of last year, and 32.17% annually. On a twelve-month moving average basis, core inflation rose by 35.69%. (ILKHA)
