Şimşek: Inflation shows significant improvement since May 2024
Türkiye’s monthly inflation in November fell to its lowest level in the past 2.5 years, while annual inflation dropped to a four-year low, Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek announced.
Şimşek highlighted the significant improvement, noting, “Compared to May 2024, the improvement has exceeded 44 points.”
The minister also pointed to food inflation returning to normal after being above long-term averages between August and October. “Food inflation, which was elevated in the late summer and early fall, normalized in November. We expect the moderate trend in monthly inflation to continue,” he said.
The data underscores the government’s efforts to stabilize prices and maintain economic stability amid ongoing global and domestic challenges. (ILKHA)
