Türkiye’s trade sales volume up 22.5% annually in June

Türkiye’s trade sales volume surged by 22.5% in June 2025 compared to the same month last year, while retail sales rose 14.7% year-on-year, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) announced on Tuesday.
According to TurkStat’s statement, the trade sales volume index recorded strong annual growth across all major sectors. In June, wholesale and retail trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles sales volume rose by 14.3%, wholesale trade sales volume jumped 27.6%, and retail trade sales volume increased by 14.7% compared with June 2024.
On a monthly basis, Türkiye’s trade sales volume grew 3.8% in June compared to May 2025. The wholesale and retail trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles sector saw a modest 0.5% rise, wholesale trade sales volume climbed 5.4%, and retail trade sales volume edged up 1.3%.
The data indicates both sustained annual momentum and moderate month-on-month expansion in Türkiye’s trade activity, driven largely by strong wholesale growth. (ILKHA)
