Türkiye’s agricultural producer prices down 5.66% monthly in July

The Producer Price Index of Agricultural Products in Türkiye rose sharply on an annual basis but saw a significant monthly decline in July, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) reported on Thursday.
According to the official data, the Agriculture-PPI decreased by 5.66% compared to the previous month. However, compared to December 2024, prices were up by 26.18%, and compared to the same month last year, they surged by 44.32%. On a twelve-month moving average basis, the index climbed by 35.92%.
Compared to June 2025, prices for agricultural products, hunting, and related services fell by 6.09%, while forestry and logging products inched up by 0.14%. Fish, aquaculture products, and fishing support services saw a stronger monthly rise of 2.36%.
In terms of main product groups, non-perennial crops dropped by 3.90% and perennial crops by 4.46%, while live animals and animal products recorded a modest increase of 0.41%.
On an annual basis, pome fruits and stone fruits recorded the highest rate of change with a striking 224.14% increase. Conversely, on a monthly basis, vegetables, melons, roots, and tubers posted the steepest fall, down by 12.64%.
The latest figures reflect ongoing volatility in agricultural prices, driven by seasonal trends, climatic conditions, and input costs, TurkStat noted. (ILKHA)
