Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a telephone conversation with United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Friday, discussing bilateral relations as well as regional and global developments.
During the call, Erdoğan emphasized that cooperation between Türkiye and the UAE would continue to expand across a wide range of areas, particularly the defense industry and economy.
The Turkish president said Ankara remains committed to further strengthening bilateral relations and increasing cooperation between the two countries.
Regional developments were also high on the agenda, with Erdoğan highlighting Türkiye’s efforts to help ease tensions between Iran and the United States and prevent further escalation in the region.
Erdoğan said Türkiye would continue pursuing peace-oriented diplomatic initiatives aimed at bringing an end to conflicts and tensions in the region.
He also stressed that Türkiye does not approve of attacks against what he described as the brotherly countries of the region, underlining the importance of protecting regional peace and stability.
The Turkish president further emphasized the importance of continued Türkiye-UAE coordination on regional issues, pointing to the potential for the two countries to contribute to efforts aimed at reducing tensions and promoting stability across the Middle East.
The conversation underscored Ankara and Abu Dhabi’s efforts to deepen their strategic partnership while maintaining close consultations on major regional and international developments. (ILKHA)
