Thousands rally in U.S. cities to condemn Israeli aggression on Gaza

Thousands of activists gathered outside the White House in a powerful display of outrage and solidarity, condemning Israel’s renewed assault on Gaza, which has already killed more than 400 civilians and left hundreds more wounded.
Waving Palestinian flags and holding banners denouncing the Israeli military offensive, demonstrators called on the Biden administration to take immediate action to halt the aggression. Chants of “Stop the genocide!” and “End U.S. complicity!” echoed through the streets of the U.S. capital as protesters demanded an end to Washington’s military and financial support for Israel’s far-right government.
The protests in Washington were part of a nationwide wave of demonstrations, with tens of thousands marching in cities including New York, Chicago, Milwaukee, San Francisco, Seattle, and Boston. Activists denounced Israel’s relentless attacks on civilians and the U.S. administration’s failure to intervene meaningfully, despite mounting global pressure to stop the bloodshed.
"We will not stand by as our tax dollars fund genocide," said one protester in Washington, emphasizing the deep frustration over the continued supply of U.S. weapons to Israel.
Many demonstrators also expressed defiance against what they see as punitive measures by the U.S. government and institutions against those who stand in solidarity with Palestine. From student groups facing repression to workers threatened with job losses over pro-Palestinian activism, the movement continues to grow despite increasing crackdowns.
The demonstrators vowed to keep up the pressure, warning that the U.S. government’s unconditional support for Israel is fueling war crimes and humanitarian catastrophe. “History will remember those who stayed silent,” one speaker declared. “And we refuse to be silent.”
As the protests gained momentum, calls intensified for a complete end to Israeli aggression, an immediate ceasefire, and a halt to U.S. military aid enabling the ongoing attacks on Palestinian civilians. (ILKHA)
