Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said that Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump are working to establish a new global political and economic order that could reshape international relations — one that shows little regard for the European Union’s current influence.

Speaking in an interview with Serbian Radio and Television, Vučić remarked that both world leaders share a strategic vision for redefining the balance of power and are motivated by ambitions far beyond the conflict in Ukraine.

“There is no doubt that both presidents, to put it diplomatically, do not have much love for the European Union,” Vučić said. “There is also no doubt that the EU will do everything possible to prevent their meeting from taking place.”

According to the Serbian leader, Putin and Trump are not merely focused on immediate geopolitical issues but are aiming to redraw the world’s political, economic, and energy map for the coming decades.

“They want to create a new map of the world — political, economic, energy. I do not believe that they discuss only Ukraine,” he said.

Vučić also hinted that broader strategic topics are on the table, suggesting that the two leaders are discussing global resource distribution and major infrastructure linkages.

“In any case, they are building their own thing. There is talk about the Arctic, about interconnection through the Bering Strait, and about rare metals, raw materials, oil, gas, and everything else that defines the future,” Vučić noted.

Analysts interpret Vučić’s remarks as a reflection of growing global realignment trends, where both Moscow and Washington, under Trump’s leadership, appear inclined to assert more independent strategies outside traditional Western frameworks.

The comments also highlight the European Union’s nervousness over potential shifts in transatlantic relations and its diminished role in the evolving global power structure.

As speculation grows about a possible Putin–Trump meeting, Vučić’s statements underscore the geopolitical implications such an encounter could have — not only for Europe but for the broader world order, particularly in the realms of energy security, trade, and strategic resource control.
