Orphans Foundation distributes winter clothing to children in Gaza
The Orphans Foundation (Yetimler Vakfı) has successfully launched a humanitarian campaign in the besieged Gaza Strip, delivering crucial winter clothing assistance to orphaned children ahead of the approaching cold season.
Operating in a region under ongoing occupation and frequent assaults, the Foundation mobilized its local volunteers to accompany orphaned children and their families to shops within Gaza. This allowed the children to personally select the necessary clothing items, ensuring they received what they needed most to prepare for the harsh winter.
Officials from the Orphans Foundation emphasized that the aid initiative goes beyond physical protection from cold weather. In an environment defined by the severe blockade and repeated military actions, the opportunity to choose new clothes plays a crucial role in boosting the children's morale and emotional well-being.
"Amidst the difficult circumstances they face, this aid not only provides physical protection but also offers a much-needed sense of normalcy and care," a Foundation representative stated.
The Foundation underscored that the ongoing support of philanthropists is vital for maintaining a safe and healthy environment for orphans in the Gaza Strip. The area continues to suffer from a crippling blockade which has resulted in acute shortages of essential supplies, including appropriate winter gear and shelter.
The Orphans Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to the vulnerable population, announcing that similar essential aid initiatives will continue in the coming period to meet the fundamental needs of Gaza’s orphaned children. The organization also runs other essential programs in the territory, including daily hot meal distribution for families facing severe deprivation. (ILKHA)
