No aid for 50 days: UN says Gaza on brink of total collapse

The United Nations on Monday issued a dire warning as the Israeli occupation’s full blockade on humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip reached its 50th day, describing the situation as “rapidly deteriorating” and threatening the lives of Gaza’s entire population.
“Today marks 50 days since the Israeli authorities have completely blocked incoming supplies of any kind into the Gaza Strip,” said UN spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric during a press briefing in New York, citing the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).
Since early March, no trucks carrying essential items—food, fuel, medicine, or other critical supplies—have been permitted entry into Gaza. Dujarric emphasized that “not a single truck” has been allowed in, regardless of the growing humanitarian needs.
“Food stocks have run dangerously low. Rations have been cut. Critical medicines, vaccines, and medical supplies are all running out,” Dujarric explained, painting a grim picture of daily life in the besieged enclave.
The blockade has also crippled emergency services, with ambulances forced to scale back operations due to severe fuel shortages. Cooking gas has disappeared from markets entirely, and most bakeries have been forced to shut down.
OCHA further warned that healthcare access is “falling apart,” while hunger continues to grow among both children and adults. The agency also reported a sharp rise in attacks on civilians, medical personnel, and aid workers in recent weeks, compounding the already immense challenges on the ground.
The United Nations renewed its calls for immediate, unrestricted humanitarian access into Gaza and urged the international community to pressure Israel to comply with international law and allow life-saving aid into the territory.
