Kazakhstan bolsters humanitarian aid to Afghanistan

Kazakhstan has delivered a significant humanitarian aid package to Afghanistan, strengthening ties between the two nations, officials announced during a high-level meeting in Kabul on Tuesday.
Kazakh Ambassador Gaziz Akbasov presented a detailed aid list to Mullah Nooruddin Turabi, Head of Afghanistan’s National Disaster Management Authority, underscoring Kazakhstan’s ongoing commitment to support the Afghan people.
The aid includes 1,000 tons of flour (20,000 50-kg sacks), 1,243.8 tons of rice (49,720 25-kg sacks), and an upcoming shipment of 3.5 tons of medicines and medical equipment due to arrive at Kabul International Airport next week. This follows the recent delivery of 36 cargo wagons of supplies through Hairatan port.
Mullah Turabi expressed gratitude for Kazakhstan’s consistent support, highlighting the need for continued collaboration to address Afghanistan’s humanitarian challenges. He also raised concerns about the forced deportation of Afghan migrants from neighboring countries, calling for regional and international efforts to aid displaced populations.
Ambassador Akbasov affirmed Kazakhstan’s pledge to expand assistance, with plans for a second phase of aid tailored to Afghanistan’s needs. He emphasized potential cooperation in sectors like mining, logistics, transportation, and agriculture, signaling a broader strategic partnership.
The meeting marks a step toward deeper engagement between Kazakhstan and the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, with both sides eyeing sustained humanitarian and economic collaboration. (ILKHA)
