Israeli strikes kill at least 90 in 24 hours as Gaza death toll surpasses 52,900

At least 90 more Palestinian martyrs were received by hospitals in the past 24 hours, alongside dozens of wounded, following intense and continuous Israeli bombardment targeting residential areas, refugee camps, and public infrastructure.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza confirmed on Wednesday that 2,799 Palestinians have been martyred and 7,805 others wounded since the Israeli occupation army resumed its genocidal onslaught on the territory on March 18, 2025.
These latest crimes bring the overall toll of the Zionist war on Gaza — which began on October 7, 2023 — to an appalling 52,928 martyrs, with 119,846 injured, the vast majority being women, children, and civilians sheltering in their homes or makeshift tents.
The bloodshed has become a daily reality for the people of Gaza, as warplanes and tanks rain down death with impunity. In many areas, entire families have been wiped out in an instant. Civil defense and emergency crews are still scrambling to retrieve bodies trapped under the rubble of destroyed homes and schools. Dozens remain missing, feared dead beneath the debris of yet another round of indiscriminate shelling.
The health system in Gaza is collapsing. Hospitals are overwhelmed, medical supplies have all but run out, and many wounded are dying slow, painful deaths due to a lack of treatment. Israeli forces continue to deliberately target medical facilities, ambulances, and healthcare workers, in blatant violation of international law.
Despite repeated calls by human rights organizations and global protests demanding an end to the bloodshed, the occupation continues its war of extermination with the full backing of Western governments. The silence of the so-called international community in the face of this unfolding genocide has only emboldened Israel’s aggression.
Gaza remains resilient. From the ruins, the people continue to call for justice, freedom, and the right to live with dignity in their own land. As the bombs fall and the martyrs are buried, the cry of "Free Palestine" echoes louder across the world. (ILKHA)
