Israeli occupation’s genocidal war on Gaza enters 642nd day

For 642 consecutive days, the Israeli occupation forces have waged a brutal, genocidal war against the people of Gaza, relentlessly targeting starving civilians, displaced families, and defenseless communities with airstrikes, artillery shelling, and sniper fire.
Backed by unwavering U.S. political and military support, Israel’s campaign has deepened the suffering of over 2 million displaced Palestinians, abandoned by an indifferent international community.
Escalating Massacres and Civilian Losses
Since dawn on Wednesday, Israeli airstrikes and shelling have killed and injured dozens across Gaza. Medical teams at the Kuwait Specialized Field Hospital reported multiple casualties after warplanes bombed tents housing displaced families near Al-Sumoud Camp west of Khan Yunis. In Deir al-Balah, Mohammed Abu Ghazaleh died from wounds sustained in an Israeli strike on his home two days ago, joining his family, who were killed earlier in the war.
Israeli helicopters and warplanes also struck a home near a bus stop in Al-Bureij refugee camp, killing a man and a woman, and a tent near Al-Aqsa University in Khan Yunis. In Gaza City, a devastating airstrike on the Joudeh family home west of Al-Shati refugee camp martyred 10 Palestinians, including three children and three women, and injured over 30 others. Artillery pounded Al-Zaytoun and Al-Shuja’iya neighborhoods, while eastern Gaza City faced further airstrikes.
Humanitarian Catastrophe and Famine
Gaza’s Health Ministry reports 57,575 Palestinians martyred, 136,879 wounded, and over 11,000 missing, with a famine claiming countless lives. Since Israel shattered a ceasefire on March 18, 2025, an additional 7,013 Palestinians have been killed and 24,838 injured. Israel’s deliberate targeting of aid distribution points since May 27 has left 766 dead, 5,044 wounded, and 39 missing, with the U.S.-backed “Gaza Humanitarian Foundation”—rejected by the UN—serving as a tool to enforce starvation and submission under the pretext of aid.
The occupation has systematically targeted Gaza’s lifeline, killing 1,581 medical workers, 115 civil defense personnel, 220 journalists, and 754 police and aid security staff. Over 15,000 massacres have obliterated more than 14,000 families, with 2,500 entirely erased from existence.
Destruction of Gaza’s Infrastructure
Israel’s relentless assault has destroyed 88% of Gaza’s buildings, including 149 schools and universities, 828 mosques, and 19 cemeteries, with losses exceeding $62 billion. The occupation now controls 77% of Gaza’s territory through invasion, firepower, and forced displacement, leaving Palestinians with nowhere to turn.
Global Betrayal
The Palestinian people face unprecedented abandonment as the international community remains silent. The United States continues to fuel Israel’s war machine, enabling the slaughter and starvation of Gaza’s population. The UN and humanitarian organizations are sidelined, unable to counter Israel’s calculated destruction.
As Gaza endures this unrelenting nightmare, the Palestinian people call for global solidarity to end the occupation’s atrocities and restore their right to life, dignity, and freedom. (ILKHA)
