A 29-year-old Palestinian man was killed by Israeli forces’ gunfire on Tuesday during a military raid on the town of Aqaba, south of Nablus in the occupied West Bank, Palestinian security sources said.

The victim was identified as Abdul Karim Mohammad Salem Khader, 29, who was killed after Israeli forces surrounded his home during an early-morning operation, according to the sources.

Khader’s body was reportedly withheld by the Israeli forces following his killing, preventing his family from immediately receiving his remains.

Israeli forces stormed the western part of Aqaba in the early hours of Tuesday, surrounding a house and launching an assault on the building, Palestinian security sources said.

The forces reportedly fired Energa grenades at the house before deploying a military bulldozer to demolish parts of the building.

The raid left the town gripped by fear and mourning as news of Khader’s death spread through the community.

For Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, such raids have become a grim feature of daily life, with Israeli military operations frequently involving home invasions, arrests, destruction of property and deadly confrontations.

The killing of Khader adds to the mounting toll of Palestinians killed during Israeli military operations across the occupied West Bank, where tensions have remained high amid continuing raids and escalating violence.

The circumstances of Khader’s killing have not been independently verified, and Israeli authorities had not immediately issued a statement explaining the operation or the circumstances surrounding his death.

For his family and community, however, Tuesday’s raid ended with another Palestinian life lost and another home left scarred by the violence of the occupation. (ILKHA)
