Israeli forces execute two unarmed Palestinians at point-plank range in Jenin
Israeli occupation forces executed two Palestinian youths at point-blank range in the Jabal Abu Dhahir neighborhood of Jenin on Thursday.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health identified the martyrs as Al-Muntasir Billah Mahmoud Qassem Abdullah, 26, and Yousef Ali Yousef Asa’asa, 37.
Widely circulated video footage shows Israeli forces firing directly at the two men at extremely close range after they exited a commercial storage facility with their hands raised. The men were clearly unarmed, displayed no threat, and complied with orders before being shot.
Local residents said an undercover Israeli unit had infiltrated the neighborhood, raiding a home and calling in heavy reinforcements near the Jenin refugee camp. Local sources reported that Israeli forces besieged a building, opening live fire and coordinating aerial support from military aircraft. Moments before the execution, an Israeli bulldozer demolished the main entrance to the storage facility, forcing the men out.
As they emerged — unarmed and surrendering — soldiers shot them repeatedly at close distance. Israeli forces then seized their bodies and continue to withhold them.
Hamas condemned the killings, describing them as part of a “systematic policy of extermination” targeting Palestinians in the West Bank. The movement said the two men were executed “in cold blood” and stressed that the video evidence contradicts any Israeli justification.
The group stated that Israel’s “open disregard for Palestinian life” and its ongoing campaign of raids, assassinations, and displacement show that armed resistance remains “a natural and legitimate response” to the occupation’s escalating aggression.
Hamas called for coordinated national action among all Palestinian factions, insisting that unity and mass mobilization are essential to confronting Israel’s intensifying policies of annexation and forced displacement.
The Palestinian Foreign Ministry in Ramallah condemned the executions as a “deliberate Israeli war crime”, accusing Israeli forces of carrying out “brutal summary executions” in clear violation of international law.
The ministry stressed that these killings are not isolated incidents but part of an entrenched policy designed to terrorize Palestinian communities, particularly in the northern West Bank where Israel is increasing raids, demolitions, and arrests.
The execution of the two young men in Jenin — unarmed, surrendering, and shot at point-blank range — is seen by Palestinian officials and rights groups as the clearest evidence yet of Israel’s ongoing contempt for international law and its campaign to erase Palestinian presence on their own land.
