Israeli Army seizes over 1,000 dunums of Palestinian land in northern Jordan Valley
The Israeli occupation army has seized 1,042 dunums of Palestinian-owned land in the northern Jordan Valley, the Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission (CWRC) reported on Saturday.
According to the CWRC, the land confiscation was carried out through nine military seizure orders and affects territories in the towns of Tammun, Tayasir, Taluza, and Tubas.
The move is reportedly part of a plan to construct a major road connecting northern Tubas to Tayasir and extending into the Jordan Valley, with a total length of up to 22 kilometers.
Local Palestinian authorities and advocacy groups condemned the land seizure, describing it as a continuation of Israel’s settlement and infrastructure expansion in the Jordan Valley, which has long been a focus of tension in the region.
The CWRC stressed that the confiscation represents a significant escalation in Israeli policies targeting Palestinian lands and called on the international community to intervene to prevent further displacement and appropriation. (ILKHA)
