At least five Palestinians were martyred and 13 others wounded on Wednesday when an Israeli strike targeted a public transport bus in Gaza City's Tal al-Hawa neighborhood, according to local Palestinian sources.

Several of the wounded were reported to be in critical condition following the attack.

The strike came amid continued Israeli aggression across the Gaza Strip, with Palestinian civilians facing renewed airstrikes and gunfire in several areas.

In central Gaza, three Palestinians were wounded, including two who sustained serious injuries, after Israeli occupation forces opened fire in the Abu al-Ajeen area southeast of Deir al-Balah, local sources reported.

The latest casualties came after Palestinian sources said the death toll from Israeli attacks since dawn Tuesday had reached eight, including a woman.

Israeli warplanes also targeted areas in eastern Gaza City around midnight between Tuesday and Wednesday, according to local sources.

Separately, a Palestinian was wounded when Israeli military vehicles opened fire northeast of the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza.

The attacks have added to the mounting toll of Palestinian casualties amid continuing Israeli military operations and a deteriorating humanitarian situation in the besieged Gaza Strip.

Local sources said some of those wounded in the latest attacks remained in critical condition.
