Iran launches new wave of missile, drone strikes on Israel in ongoing retaliation

Iran has launched a new salvo of missiles and drones targeting strategic sites in Israel, as tensions escalate in response to ongoing Israeli aggression.
The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) confirmed the renewed strikes in a statement released Monday, describing them as part of a continued campaign of punitive retaliation.
Despite strict censorship by Israeli authorities, footage circulated online showing Iranian projectiles hitting several targets. Israeli media later confirmed that a Rafael Advanced Defense Systems facility and Ben Gurion Airport had sustained direct hits.
The IRGC stated that its Aerospace Force was targeting Israeli intelligence facilities, following the killing of high-ranking Iranian commanders in earlier Israeli strikes. Among the casualties confirmed by the IRGC were Mohammad Kazemi, head of the IRGC’s Intelligence Organization, and two of his associates, Hassan Mohaqeq and Mohsen Baqeri.
Additionally, Israeli sources reported that missiles and drones were also launched from Yemen toward the occupied territories, suggesting coordinated action by regional resistance forces.
The current escalation began on June 13, when Israel launched an unprovoked and deadly airstrike on Iranian soil, targeting residential buildings and high-level military officials. The assault resulted in the assassination of several senior Iranian commanders and civilian casualties.
In response, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei swiftly appointed new military commanders and vowed that “life would turn bleak” for Israel. Iran subsequently launched multiple waves of missile and drone attacks, striking deep into Israeli territory, including Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and Haifa.
Life in the occupied territories has reportedly come to a standstill, with many residents taking shelter underground for extended periods.
Iranian officials have declared that the retaliatory operations will persist until the Israeli regime is held fully accountable for its acts of aggression. (ILKHA)
